Why are the pleas of the pensioners not being heeded?
EPS- 95 pensioners have been forced to live in poverty due to the government’s apathy. For a long time, EPS- 95 pensioners have been demanding an increase in their pension but the government has turned a deaf ear to their demands. Many pensioners have died waiting for their pension to be increased but the government ignores their demands.
EPS-95 pensioners have been protesting for a long time that their pension should be increased and they should be given the benefit of Rs 7500 + DA. Protests were held everywhere in Delhi, Maharashtra and other states of the country but it did not have any impact on the government. The government only gives assurances, in reality the pensioners get nothing.
Pensioners are troubled for the last 6 years. Pensioners are demanding an increase in the minimum pension and also free medical facilities for the husband or wife, but the government has only been giving assurances. PM Modi himself had also given assurances but till now no announcement has been made regarding their pension increase.
Commander Ashok Rawat says that Modi Ji should fulfill his guarantee and immediately fulfill the demands of old pensioners on humanitarian grounds. At present, the minimum pension is ₹1000.
In today’s times, ₹1000 is not going to do anything, so the pension should be increased and justice should be done to the pensioners on humanitarian grounds. Pensioners do not want to get into the hassle of what EPFO is doing, what CBDT is doing. 12% of the basic salary of employees covered under EPS-95 goes to the Provident Fund while 8.33% of the employer’s 12% share is deposited in the Employees’ Pension Scheme.
This is the employees’ money, when the employee retires, they are given pension from this but the government does not give them their rights. Pension is given by EPFO from the employees’ money only and the bank interest is also less and on the death of the pensioner, the principal amount also goes to the government. In such a situation, justice should be done to the pensioners. The Supreme Court had given a big decision on higher pension, but despite the court’s decision, the government is not doing justice to the pensioners regarding higher pension, it is only extending the time limit.
Now the time limit for higher pension has been extended till 31 May 2024, in such a situation, those who deposited money and chose the higher option are getting nothing but loss. Their money has been deposited and they are not getting the benefit of higher pension. This issue was raised by the honorable minister in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, NCP MP from Maharashtra Supriya Sule cornered the Ministry of Labor on this issue. The Ministry of Labor was even called the Ministry of Shame. If the Ministry of Labor is concerned about the pensioners, then it should immediately approve their demand and issue an order. But the demand of the pensioners was not met.

ఈపీఎస్-95 పింఛనుదారులు తమ పెన్షన్‌ను పెంచాలని, తమకు రూ.7500 + డీఏ లబ్ధి చేకూర్చాలని చాలా కాలంగా నిరసనలు చేస్తున్నారు. ఢిల్లీ, మహారాష్ట్ర, దేశంలోని ఇతర రాష్ట్రాల్లో ఎక్కడికక్కడ నిరసనలు జరిగినా ప్రభుత్వంపై ఎలాంటి ప్రభావం చూపలేదు. ప్రభుత్వం కేవలం హామీలు మాత్రమే ఇస్తుంది, వాస్తవానికి పెన్షనర్లకు ఏమీ లేదు.
గత 6 సంవత్సరాలుగా పింఛనుదారులు ఇబ్బందులు పడుతున్నారు. కనీస పింఛను పెంచాలని, భార్యాభర్తలకు ఉచిత వైద్య సదుపాయాలు కల్పించాలని పింఛనుదారులు డిమాండ్ చేస్తున్నా ప్రభుత్వం మాత్రం హామీలు గుప్పిస్తోంది. ప్రధాని మోదీ స్వయంగా హామీ కూడా ఇచ్చారు కానీ ఇప్పటి వరకు వారి పెన్షన్ పెంపుపై ఎలాంటి ప్రకటన చేయలేదు.
మోదీ జీ తన హామీని నెరవేర్చాలని, మానవతా దృక్పథంతో పాత పెన్షనర్ల డిమాండ్లను వెంటనే నెరవేర్చాలని కమాండర్ అశోక్ రావత్ అన్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం, కనీస పెన్షన్ ₹1000.
నేటి కాలంలో ₹1000 ఏమీ చేయడం లేదు కాబట్టి పింఛను పెంచి పింఛనుదారులకు మానవతా దృక్పథంతో న్యాయం చేయాలి. EPFO ఏమి చేస్తోంది, CBDT ఏమి చేస్తోంది అనే సమస్యలో పెన్షనర్లు పడకూడదు. EPS-95 కింద కవర్ చేయబడిన ఉద్యోగుల ప్రాథమిక జీతంలో 12% ప్రావిడెంట్ ఫండ్‌కు వెళుతుంది, అయితే యజమాని యొక్క 12% వాటాలో 8.33% ఉద్యోగుల పెన్షన్ పథకంలో జమ చేయబడుతుంది.

ఇప్పుడు అధిక పెన్షన్ కోసం కాల పరిమితిని 31 మే 2024 వరకు పొడిగించారు, అటువంటి పరిస్థితిలో, డబ్బు డిపాజిట్ చేసి, అధిక ఎంపికను ఎంచుకున్న వారికి నష్టం తప్ప ఏమీ లేదు. వారి డబ్బు డిపాజిట్ చేయబడింది మరియు అధిక పెన్షన్ ప్రయోజనం పొందడం లేదు. ఈ అంశాన్ని లోక్‌సభ మరియు రాజ్యసభలో గౌరవ మంత్రి లేవనెత్తారు, మహారాష్ట్రకు చెందిన ఎన్‌సిపి ఎంపి సుప్రియా సూలే ఈ అంశంపై కార్మిక మంత్రిత్వ శాఖను కార్నర్ చేశారు. కార్మిక మంత్రిత్వ శాఖను షేమ్ మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ అని కూడా పిలుస్తారు. కార్మిక మంత్రిత్వ శాఖ పెన్షనర్ల గురించి ఆందోళన చెందుతుంటే, అది వెంటనే వారి డిమాండ్‌ను ఆమోదించి ఆర్డర్ జారీ చేయాలి. కానీ పింఛన్‌దారుల డిమాండ్ నెరవేరలేదు.
सरकार की उदासीनता के कारण ईपीएस- 95 पेंशनभोगी गरीबी में जीने को मजबूर हैं। लंबे समय से ईपीएस- 95 पेंशनभोगी अपनी पेंशन में बढ़ोतरी की मांग कर रहे हैं लेकिन सरकार ने उनकी मांगों को अनसुना कर दिया है। कई पेंशनभोगियों की पेंशन बढ़वाने के इंतजार में मौत हो चुकी है, लेकिन सरकार उनकी मांगों को नजरअंदाज कर रही है।
ईपीएस-95 पेंशनभोगी लंबे समय से विरोध कर रहे हैं कि उनकी पेंशन बढ़ाई जाए और उन्हें 7500 रुपये + डीए का लाभ दिया जाए. दिल्ली, महाराष्ट्र और देश के अन्य राज्यों में जगह-जगह विरोध प्रदर्शन हुए लेकिन सरकार पर इसका कोई असर नहीं हुआ. सरकार सिर्फ आश्वासन देती है, हकीकत में पेंशनधारियों को कुछ नहीं मिलता.
पिछले 6 साल से पेंशनभोगी परेशान हैं। पेंशनभोगी न्यूनतम पेंशन बढ़ाने और पति या पत्नी के लिए मुफ्त चिकित्सा सुविधा की मांग कर रहे हैं, लेकिन सरकार केवल आश्वासन ही दे रही है। खुद पीएम मोदी ने भी आश्वासन दिया था लेकिन अब तक उनकी पेंशन बढ़ोतरी को लेकर कोई घोषणा नहीं की गई है.
कमांडर अशोक रावत का कहना है कि मोदी जी को अपनी गारंटी पूरी करनी चाहिए और मानवीय आधार पर वृद्ध पेंशनरों की मांगों को तुरंत पूरा करना चाहिए. वर्तमान में न्यूनतम पेंशन ₹1000 है।
आज के समय में ₹1000 से कुछ नहीं होने वाला है इसलिए पेंशन बढ़ाई जाए और मानवीय आधार पर पेंशनधारकों को न्याय दिया जाए। पेंशनभोगी इस झंझट में नहीं पड़ना चाहते कि ईपीएफओ क्या कर रहा है, सीबीडीटी क्या कर रहा है। ईपीएस-95 के अंतर्गत आने वाले कर्मचारियों के मूल वेतन का 12% भविष्य निधि में जाता है जबकि नियोक्ता के 12% हिस्से में से 8.33% कर्मचारी पेंशन योजना में जमा किया जाता है।
ये कर्मचारियों का पैसा है, जब कर्मचारी रिटायर होता है तो उन्हें इससे पेंशन दी जाती है लेकिन सरकार उन्हें उनका हक नहीं देती. ईपीएफओ द्वारा पेंशन कर्मचारियों के पैसे से ही दी जाती है और बैंक का ब्याज भी कम होता है और पेंशनभोगी की मृत्यु पर मूल राशि भी सरकार को जाती है। ऐसे में पेंशनधारियों के साथ न्याय होना चाहिए. सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने उच्च पेंशन पर बड़ा फैसला सुनाया था, लेकिन कोर्ट के फैसले के बावजूद सरकार उच्च पेंशन को लेकर पेंशनभोगियों के साथ न्याय नहीं कर रही है, सिर्फ समय सीमा बढ़ा रही है.
अब उच्च पेंशन की समय सीमा 31 मई 2024 तक बढ़ा दी गई है, ऐसे में जिन लोगों ने पैसा जमा कर उच्च विकल्प चुना उन्हें नुकसान के अलावा कुछ नहीं मिल रहा है। उनका पैसा जमा हो गया है और उन्हें उच्च पेंशन का लाभ नहीं मिल रहा है. इस मुद्दे को माननीय मंत्री ने लोकसभा और राज्यसभा में उठाया, महाराष्ट्र से एनसीपी सांसद सुप्रिया सुले ने इस मुद्दे पर श्रम मंत्रालय को घेरा। श्रम मंत्रालय को शर्म मंत्रालय तक कहा जाता था। अगर श्रम मंत्रालय को पेंशनभोगियों की चिंता है तो उसे तुरंत उनकी मांग मंजूर कर आदेश जारी करना चाहिए. लेकिन पेंशनरों की मांग पूरी नहीं हुई.
